The scoring rule in one paragraph
Breadth of capabilities documented on reviewed official pages only.
Sum the points for supported_criterion_ids. Every criterion not listed as supported receives 0. A challenge-blocked unknown also receives 0 and is not converted into a negative product finding.
The six fixed categories
Every category and criterion is frozen before provider flags are applied.
- free base — 25 points: FB1 No-registration free base result documented (5); FB2 Name in the free base result documented (5); FB3 Location in the free base result documented (5); FB4 Carrier or line type in the free base result documented (5); FB5 Spam signal in the free base result documented (5)
- phone type and signal coverage — 20 points: PD1 Mobile-number coverage documented (4); PD2 Landline-number coverage documented (4); PD3 VoIP-number coverage documented (4); PD4 Carrier or line-type data documented (4); PD5 Spam or community signal documented (4)
- report context — 25 points: RC1 Name or aliases documented (5); RC2 Address history documented (5); RC3 Email or other phone details documented (5); RC4 Social profiles or relatives documented (5); RC5 A public-record category beyond basic phone identity documented (5)
- adjacent inputs — 15 points: AI1 Name-search input documented (3); AI2 Address-search input documented (3); AI3 Email-search input documented (3); AI4 Social or photo-search input documented (3); AI5 Business or another distinct search input documented (3)
- removal clarity — 10 points: RM1 Official removal, unlisting, or suppression route documented (4); RM2 Removal process documented (3); RM3 No payment or account prerequisite documented (2); RM4 Removal timing or limits documented (1)
- limitations — 5 points: LM1 Non-CRA or FCRA-use restriction documented (2); LM2 Data-availability caveat documented (2); LM3 Free, paid, signed-in, or app access model documented (1)
What counts as evidence
Direct official product pages support possible capability claims. Official terms, privacy, pricing, support, and removal pages support access or policy statements but do not prove lookup accuracy.
A challenge-blocked endpoint establishes only that the official route was identified and inaccessible during review; it does not support feature detail.
- T1: direct official feature evidence.
- T2: official policy or support evidence.
- T3: official endpoint challenge-blocked; details remain unknown.
How zero, unknown, and absence differ
Unknown and not documented receive zero for reproducibility. Neither label means the provider lacks the capability.
PeopleFinders is unranked because all reviewed official endpoints were challenge-blocked, so its zeroed flags are not published as a product score.
The frozen dated result
Evidence was checked 2026-09-01. Radaris ranks #1 at 85/100 under this rubric.
The relationship disclosure remains a separate publication blocker and must not be hidden by the reproducible score.

- #3 BeenVerified: 45/100
- #4 Spokeo: 42/100
- #5 TruthFinder: 41/100
- #6 Truecaller: 40/100

- Unranked PeopleFinders: score unknown
What the method does not measure
No standardized accuracy test was performed.
Prices, trials, renewals, and cancellation paths can change. No exact price is published without a current dated checkout source.
- This is not an Accuracy Score and must never be labeled as one.
- A score measures documented breadth, not correctness, freshness, completeness, speed, customer service, value, or suitability for a particular person.
- The phrase 'may include' records possible fields stated by a provider and does not promise that a lookup will return them.
- Unknown and not documented score 0; neither means the provider lacks the capability.
- Price is excluded. No price, checkout, cancellation, or paid-report comparison was performed.
- Weights and flags are applied before ranking and are not adjusted to force an outcome.
When the ledger should change
Recheck when an official product, terms, privacy, pricing, removal, or access page materially changes or when a challenged endpoint becomes available.
Record the new checked date, preserve the old rationale, apply the same frozen weights, and update every affected verdict and source note together.
- Do not edit points to preserve a preferred order.
- Do not convert provider marketing into measured performance.
- Do not publish until the Radaris relationship is confirmed and disclosed exactly.
